It's been one of those days. It was a fast--bed. Got a full day's work in by 1:30--good. We got lost on the way to the pet shelter--bad. Found out what the mistake was in the directions--good. Got into a car accident 200 meters from the shelter--mucho bad. (Two lanes of traffic stopped politely to let us make a left. The jerk who was passing everyone on the right didn't stop until our bumper stopped him.)

Found a kitten--good. Turned out it had fungii--bad. Found another kitten--good. It had a bum leg--bad. Found a third kitten--good. It's other leg wasn't good--bad. Finally just straight out asked: "Do you have any healthy cats?" They showed me adult cats--not what we wanted. Then they showed us a black furball who was asleep. "She's just been spayed." Excellent, since for religious reasons we can't spay her, but if she's already fixed... But (and there's always a but, isn't there?) she hasn't had her rabies shot, and they don't want to give her one the same day she's been fixed. So we had them put our name on her card and on Thursday we're going back to get her.

Tomorrow it's off the the insurance adjusters. Non-stop fun, that's my life!
